We are the Be’er Sheva Municipal Wind Orchestra.
30 years ago, in a meeting between Mrs. Sharona Kapon – oboe player – and Mr. Nissim Alsich, then the conductor of the Be’er Sheva Youth Orchestra. At the time, there was place for adult amateur musicians to continue playing.
Following that meeting, the orchestra was established. Experienced amateur musicians, mostly graduates of youth orchestras, all of whom shared the common motivation to continue playing music.
Over the years, the orchestra has absorbed many additional musicians, some students and some new immigrants.
For several years now following the retirement of Mr. Nissim Alsheikh,
Mr. Micha David has continued as conductor of the orchestra.

The orchestra performs in various events throughout the city and around the country, also taking part in festivals of youth orchestras and competitions around the world.
The orchestra holds regular rehearsals, on Sunday evenings, in the conservatory auditorium.
